Members vs promoters: what to check before paying a server
Projects that promote inside other servers usually buy a sponsored announcement, book an AMA or run a role or whitelist collaboration.
Sponsored posts reach only members with notifications on, so ask how many reacted to recent ones. AMAs work when the audience cares about the category; review past sessions first. Collaborations bring numbers that often go quiet after the reward, so measure who still talks a month later. Agree in advance what is posted, when and where.
Warning signs before paying a server:

- Turn off direct messages from server members; most scams arrive as private messages from accounts posing as moderators or support staff.
- Do not connect a wallet or sign a transaction from a link posted in chat until you have checked it against the project’s website, because hijacked bots and moderator accounts post fake mint and claim links.
- Report fake servers and impersonators to Discord and to the real project’s team.
- If you already clicked a suspicious link, revoke wallet approvals with a trusted tool and move the remaining funds to a new wallet.
